On November 29, Tom and Emily Whitehead joined the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine in Brussels, Belgium for a European Union Parliament meeting. It was an incredible honor to be included in this event and have the opportunity to advocate for policies that support better access to cell and gene therapies for patients across Europe.
The meeting was hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Dr. Stelios Kympouropoulos of the European People's Party, who spoke of the hope that cell and gene therapies represent for patients with rare diseases across the EU. In addition to Tom and Emily, patient advocate and mother to CAR-T Warrior Opie Jones Lucy Ellerker shared the story of her son's experience receiving CAR-T in the United Kingdom.
