Comcast Universal Sphere Exhibit Features Emily Whitehead and Dr. Carl June

On the 7-year anniversary of Emily's first CAR-T infusion, we had the great honor to join Steven Spielberg and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts to unveil "The Universal Sphere" at Comcast Technology Center – a public theater experience that plays a short film featuring Emily and Dr. Carl June.

Visiting Thermo Fisher Scientific in Oslo, Norway

In March, we had the unique opportunity to travel to Oslo, Norway to visit the Thermo Fisher Scientific research facilities at Norwegian Radium Hospital and meet Norway's first pediatric CAR-T patient, 15-year old Simen Aarskog.

On February 23, we had the honor to attend the Liberty Ball in Philadelphia and be presented with the 4th Annual Kayla Nakonechni Knight Award, which recognizes a leader and an advocate in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Phacilitate Yacht Party Raises $17,350 for Emily Whitehead Foundation

During the week of January 22-24, 2019 we had the honor to attend the co-located Phacilitate Leaders World and World Stem Cell Summit 2019 conferences in Miami, Florida and host a yacht party fundraiser in partnership with Phacilitate — which raised a total $17,350!

4th Annual “Take Down Cancer” Wrestling Event Raises Over $11K

On January 3, 2019, we began the new year by joining members of our local community at the 4th Annual Take Down Cancer Event benefitting the Emily Whitehead Foundation. Thanks to the combined fundraising efforts of the Philipsburg-Osceola and Clearfield school districts and high school wrestling clubs, this year's event raised a total $11,205 to help further childhood cancer research!

Nicole Gularte’s Fight For A Cure

On November 2, 2018 Nicole Gularte became the very first patient in a brand new CART-22 clinical trial at Penn Medicine — following a relapse of her cancer after participating in the CTL019 CAR-T cell therapy trial in October 2016.

Team EWF Conquers 2018 Philadelphia Marathon

Over the weekend of November 17-18, we traveled to Philadelphia to support our team of runners participating in the 2018 Philadelphia Marathon. In four years as an official charity partner, Team EWF has now raised over $143,000 through Philadelphia Marathon fundraising efforts!
