We are incredibly excited to announce a collaboration with Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) to fund pediatric cancer immunotherapy research!

The Emily Whitehead Foundation has contributed $250,000 to SU2C's Phillip A. Sharp Innovation in Collaboration Awards—a grant that will be split between two Sharp Awards, with $125,000 supporting a 2018 Sharp Award and the remaining $125,000 going toward a 2019 Sharp Award.

This year's award will support the research collaboration of Toronto scientist Trevor Pugh, PhD, and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) pediatric oncologist David Barrett, MD, PhD. With $125,000 in support from the Emily Whitehead Foundation, Pugh and Barrett will work in collaboration to study precision of pediatric cancer immunotherapy treatments.

In a press release published by SU2C and the American Association for Cancer Research, Tom Whitehead is quoted saying, "We are honored to collaborate with SU2C and fund these amazing researchers so they can further study pediatric cancer immunotherapy treatments. Our hope is to pay it forward and support the development of successful, less toxic treatments that will give more kids the chance to not only survive their cancer but also lead healthy and happy lives."

We are proud of this opportunity and thankful for the continued support of our donors who have made possible this contribution, and we look forward to further collaborating with SU2C in our mission to activate the cure for childhood cancer!
