The Emily Whitehead Foundation is pleased to announce that the 6th Annual Tee Off for T-Cells Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored by CNB Bank, will take place as scheduled on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Philipsburg Elks Lodge & Country Club in Philipsburg, Pa.
As the Emily Whitehead Foundation's longest standing fundraising event, Tee Off for T-Cells has always provided an opportunity for the Whitehead family to engage with their hometown community and give thanks for the support received from friends and neighbors throughout Emily's journey fighting cancer and beyond. In the last five years alone, the Tee Off for T-Cells event has raised more than $265,000 for pediatric cancer immunotherapy research.
While taking into careful consideration the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the Emily Whitehead Foundation has been working together with tournament host Jon Condo and Philipsburg Elks Lodge & Country Club to make changes to this year's event that will ensure the safety and best possible experience for supporters and participants.
"We are really excited to have the Philipsburg Elks Country Club working with us to raise much needed funds," says Emily Whitehead Foundation co-founder Tom Whitehead, "and we couldn’t have held our Tee Off for T-Cells annual golf tournament without CNB Bank again coming in as our main sponsor."
"Their support over the years with this tournament and just overall support for our family has lead to our success and has helped save children from all over the world. The incredible support of our local central Pennsylvania communities continue to humble us and inspire us to make a difference every day."
All participants will be expected to adhere to local social distancing guidelines and follow restrictions set forth by the Philipsburg Elks Lodge & Country Club. All communal activities that have become a staple of this event in years past, including the live auction and social hour, will not take place.
Instead, thanks to the generosity of Philipsburg Elks Lodge & Country Club, the Emily Whitehead Foundation will receive 10% of restaurant sales accrued Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12.
Additionally, the event's silent auction will move this year to an online platform to give everyone a safe opportunity to bid on many of the same great items that would have been on display.
"We are looking forward to doing something normal and this will be one of our only fundraisers this year," says Whitehead. "This event will help us keep our foundation moving forward, and we appreciate any support of our efforts by golfing, bidding in the silent auction, or just by eating at the restaurant or ordering takeout."
