We had an incredible time returning to the Big Apple for our second year participating in the TCS New York City Marathon! The clear skies and perfect temperatures provided the ideal race day weather for our team of six exceptional runners. Each runner showcased their strength and determination to #ActivateTheCure for more patients to have access to life-changing advanced therapies along their treatment journeys.

“The crowds, beautiful weather, and, of course, our amazing charity team made this a memory of a lifetime for me,” Emily Whitehead Foundation team runner Nick Hubal said.

Members of the Foundation cheered on runners at throughout the race course. We were joined by several special guests including 2023 TCS New York City Marathon Foundation team runner Stefanie Leysen. Team members from our partner Aldevron also came out to cheer on their colleague Nate Russart, who ran with the Foundation’s marathon team.

“The TCS New York City Marathon was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget!” said Russart.

The evening before the race, we hosted a reception to celebrate and thank our amazing team. The Foundation delivered meals from the reception to the nursing staff and overnight patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

“Our team of runners has been working together since April to train and fundraise for this event,” said Foundation race coordinator and board member Jodie Potter. “The reception was a great opportunity for them to meet and share their excitement about the big day.”

Thanks to our amazing team of runners and generous donors, we raised over $31,000 toward our mission of creating a brighter future for patients and their caregivers. We are so grateful for their dedication and support and congratulate them on crossing the finish line! The Foundation looks forward to participating again next year, and more information on how to join our team will be available in 2025.

It’s not too late to donate! Donations will be accepted through Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024. All donations made during this time will be generously matched by the Wilson Foundation. Make a donation today!
