Over the weekend of May 5-6, we had the pleasure of attending the 2018 Pittsburgh Marathon. For the third year in a row, the Emily Whitehead Foundation participated in the marathon as an official charity partner.

This year our charity team consisted of about 25 runners, including EWF co-founder Kari Whitehead. Among those who participated, one was a first-time marathon runner, two ran their first 5k, three participated in the Steele Challenge—running both Saturday and Sunday events—and five runners raised over $1,000 as part of their fundraising efforts!

While the fundraising window remains open until May 31, our team has so far raised over $12,000! Over the last 3 years, our Pittsburgh Marathon charity runners have now contributed $56,000 to childhood cancer research.

Team EWF inspires us!

Thank you to all who participated in this year's Pittsburgh Marathon events. We look forward to "Activating the Herd"—the name affectionately given to our relay team in recognition of Emily’s favorite animal, the cow—at next year's race!
