It is a true honor to share that our co-founder and namesake, Emily Whitehead, has been listed among Nature's 10 people who mattered in science in 2017! The journal's annual list names ten people who have played a significant role in a few of the year's most impactful scientific discoveries and events.

In her profile on Emily, Elie Dolgin recalls the simple, but powerful gesture that Emily displayed when rising to join her father, Tom Whitehead, as he spoke before the Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee this past July to advocate for FDA approval of CAR-T cell therapy.

Commenting on the honor of being included on this year's list, Emily told Dolgin, “It feels great. All of these people like to look up to me, and that’s really special.”

The full profile on Emily and the list of all Nature's 10 people can be read here.

We are so proud of Emily and thankful for the support of all who have taken inspiration from her story.
