For the fourth consecutive year, Team EWF participated as an official charity partner to the Pittsburgh Marathon. Our team of 25 runners raised over $16,000 – and were joined for the first time by Emily, who ran her very first 5k!
Emily Whitehead Foundation Co-Funds Innovative Research in Collaboration with 2019 Stand Up To Cancer Sharp Awards
The Emily Whitehead Foundation has co-funded a grant in collaboration with Stand Up to Cancer and the 2019 Innovation In Collaboration Philip A. Sharp Awards to support the advanced pediatric CAR-T cell therapy research of Dr. Sarah Tasian (CHOP) and Dr. Kimberly Stegmaier (Dana-Farber Institute).
On the 7-year anniversary of Emily's first CAR-T infusion, we had the great honor to join Steven Spielberg and Comcast CEO Brian Roberts to unveil "The Universal Sphere" at Comcast Technology Center – a public theater experience that plays a short film featuring Emily and Dr. Carl June.
In March, we had the unique opportunity to travel to Oslo, Norway to visit the Thermo Fisher Scientific research facilities at Norwegian Radium Hospital and meet Norway's first pediatric CAR-T patient, 15-year old Simen Aarskog.
