On January 3, 2019, we began the new year by joining members of our local community at the 4th Annual Take Down Cancer Event benefitting the Emily Whitehead Foundation. Thanks to the combined fundraising efforts of the Philipsburg-Osceola and Clearfield school districts and high school wrestling clubs, this year's event raised a total $11,205 to help further childhood cancer research!
On November 2, 2018 Nicole Gularte became the very first patient in a brand new CART-22 clinical trial at Penn Medicine — following a relapse of her cancer after participating in the CTL019 CAR-T cell therapy trial in October 2016. Today, Nicole is an eight-time cancer survivor and once again in remission thanks to CAR-T cell therapy research.
Over the weekend of November 17-18, we traveled to Philadelphia to support our team of runners participating in the 2018 Philadelphia Marathon. In four years as an official charity partner, Team EWF has now raised over $143,000 through Philadelphia Marathon fundraising efforts!
Emily Whitehead Foundation and Phacilitate to Hold Yacht Party Fundraiser at Phacilitate Leaders World in Miami
In an effort to bring more awareness to pediatric cancer immunotherapy research, the Emily Whitehead Foundationand London-based Phacilitate are joining together to hold a one of a kind fundraising event in Miami, Florida on January 24, 2019.
On Thursday, November 8 we had the honor of traveling to Montreal, Canada to speak at a Novartis Canada town hall meeting and share our story alongside CHOP's Dr. Stephan Grupp and the Lahti family.
