On Friday, July 13 we hosted our 4th annual “Tee Off for T-Cells” golf tournament at Philipsburg Elks Lodge and Country Club in our hometown of Philipsburg, Pa. With the support of our title sponsor CNB Bank, participating sponsors, donors, and community members in attendance, this year’s event was our most successful yet and raised over $66,000!
In four years, the “Tee Off for T-Cells” charity event has now raised over $216,000. Such contributions help the Emily Whitehead Foundation fund life-saving pediatric cancer immunotherapy research, such as the CAR-T cell therapy that saved Emily’s life six years ago.
We were proud to welcome our friend and board member, NFL long snapper Jon Condo, back to Philipsburg to host the tournament. Each year is a greater success thanks to the support of Condo and his family, and we are so thankful for all that he continues to do for the Emily Whitehead Foundation and this event.
It was a pleasure to also be joined by special guests Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt McGloin, New Orleans Saints linebacker Nathan Stupar, University of Maryland Wrestling head coach Kerry McCoy, Philipsburg-Osceola High School Wrestling head coach Brad Pataky, and Nittany Lion Wrestling Club’s Mark McKnight. Additionally, we were glad to have patient advocate and 7x leukemia survivor Nicole Gularte with us to share her inspiring CAR-T cell therapy story with those in attendance.
As always, we appreciate our local Philipsburg community and thank all who joined us at the event’s silent auction and evening live auction and social hour. Special thanks to Philipsburg Elks Lodge & Country Club, and to the staff and volunteers who dedicated their time and service to make this event possible!
Next summer, we will look forward to hosting our 5th annual “Tee Off for T-Cells” event. Sign up for our newsletter to be among the first to know when registration and sponsorship opportunities are available.
